WT Google Suite for Beginners

Confused about the various Google computer applications? In this course, students will learn and practice using Google Tools commonly found in a variety of employment sectors. Students will gain hands-on experience to increase their comfort and confidence with Google Mail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Participants will create, edit, organize, export, and share files, as well as create and manage different types of email accounts. Online safety and best practices will also be discussed. An email account is required, and reliable access to the internet is strongly encouraged. 

This class is 4 sessions that are 1.5 hours each in Seaside (CCC South County location).

***Students must supply their own laptop for the class.***

 Mondays 7-8 to 7-29 from 6pm to 7:30pm

Three class sessions or more – two working days prior to the first class

WT-Spanish for Educators

This course is an overview of basic Spanish phrases with an emphasis on developing a basic vocabulary for teachers, school administrators, and staff. An emphasis is placed on pronunciation, role playing, and commands. Students will learn to speak job-specific and conversational Spanish. There is no grammar, complex rules, or verb conjugations to learn. This class is designed for newcomers to Spanish. No prior experience is necessary. For those working in the field of education it is important today to be able to effectively communicate in Spanish. Organizations can improve teamwork and service with an improved ability to talk to Spanish-speaking associates, parents, and students. This course is a non-traditional approach to language learning resulting in proficiency in a short time frame.

6 sessions on Zoom Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 6:00pm

Note:  Payment for the class to be made by The Astoria School District via an invoice from the CCC Business Office.

WT-First Aid, CPR and AED Certification

This one session course is designed to prepare participants to provide First Aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course teaches the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. This course includes infant/child First Aid and CPR. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED two-year certification. Cards are issued electronically through the American Heart Association and may take up to two weeks to arrive.

This class is 1 session and meets in Patriot Hall Room 206.

If unable to pay via credit/debit card, please mail check or money order at least 5 days prior to class start date to:

WT-Guest Service Gold®

This comprehensive program is designed to train line-level employees to engage and provide memorable guest service. Students will learn to identify and apply the seven principles of customer engagement in the workplace, identify golden opportunities to personalize an experience and inspire others and provide visitors with authenticity, intuition, empathy, delight, delivery, and initiative. Following the training, students who pass the certification exam with a 70% or greater will receive the Certified Guest Service Professional® designation.This is a one session class that is completed in 4 hours.

About the instructor: Ken Henson, owner of Refettorio Consulting, will share his experience of 25+ years in the restaurant industry, employee management and motivation, leadership, multi-unit management, food/labor costing and analysis, P&L, restaurant opening, leadership development and process implementation.
