COASST Volunteer Training: Beached Bird
available
with UW Staff
Join the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST)! Come to this interactive training and learn how to collect vital data to address important marine conservation issues and protect marine resources. COASST participants collect data on beached carcasses of marine birds on a monthly basis at an un-surveyed beach of your choice. Beached bird surveys are best conducted in groups of 2 or more so please come with a survey partner in mind or in tow!
The training itself is free, but we do ask for a $50 materials fee to take a survey kit home. This offsets the full cost of COASST materials. Scholarships available.
Note: Please bring a lunch for yourself or plan to go somewhere nearby! Snacks will be provided.
To RSVP, email coasst@uw.edu, call 206-221-6893, or text 503-563-0297. Please share your email address and that you intend to attend the training in Astoria.
