Woodworking: Intro. to Woodturning
with Brian Pietrowski

Students will learn the basics of woodturning and safety practices while using a wood lathe. This workshop will focus on spindle turning techniques used in reproducing architectural details such as balusters and gingerbread accents on Victorian style houses.
All students should bring safety glasses and ear protection to class if they have them. Otherwise, they will be provided.

Instructor Bio: Brian Pietrowski is a local woodworker and student of the Historic Preservation program at Clatsop Community College. He received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from the Oregon College of Art and Craft, and he has spent the last two decades making furniture, cabinetry, and designing architectural spaces. Brian’s current work focuses on restoring and reproducing historic wooden windows.

Refund Schedule and Drop Dates
Last day to drop a Community Education or Workforce Training class with a refund:
- One or two-session workshops – one working day prior to class start date
- Three class sessions or more – two working days after the first class
There are no refunds allowed beyond these deadlines: You are liable for payment of classes at the time of registration and will be held liable unless the classes are dropped within the refund period.
If you withdraw due to circumstances beyond your control such as a medical emergency, you may file a petition for a refund. The date of receipt of the petition, length of class attendance, and cost of course materials and services may be considered in denying or reducing the amount requested. Woodworking: How to Build a Crosscut Sled for a Table Saw
with Brian Pietrowski

Students will be taken through the process of how to fabricate a crosscut sled (and other jigs) for their table saw. This class will also cover table saw safety and basic operations.
