Vinyasa Flow Yoga
with Kathleen Callan
Come learn the basics of vinyasa flow yoga in which students learn postures that they connect to seamlessly move from one pose to another. In this class, students will link breath to movement, increase strength and balance, and build resilience.
Students should bring a mat to class.

Beginning Yoga

This yoga class is a beginner-level class that introduces the practice of yoga to students. This practice will warm and energize the body, and bring focus and clarity to the mind.
Students should bring a mat to class.

Stormy River Writers
with Sean Davis
In this class, students will learn about the importance of language, descriptive narration, and story structure. Students will examine and experiment with tenses, points of view, and sometimes write outside of their comfort zones. This course is for those who want to write every week and go over what they write with a group. Writers who are working on a memoir, a novel, or non-fiction are welcome. The ultimate goal of this class is to inspire, motivate, and support one another!

Instructor Bio: Sean Davis is the author of The Wax Bullet War, a Purple Heart Iraq War veteran, and the winner of the Legionnaire of the Year Award from the American Legion in 2015 as well as the recipient of the Emily Gottfried Emerging Leader, Human Rights award for 2016. His stories, essays, and articles have appeared in the Ted Talk Book: The Misfit’s Manifesto by Lidia Yuknavitch (Simon and Schuster), the Forest Avenue Press anthology: City of Weird, Sixty Minutes, Story Corps, Flaunt Magazine, The Big Smoke, Human (the movie), and much more.

COASST Volunteer Training: Beached Bird
with UW Staff
Join the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST)! Come to this interactive training and learn how to collect vital data to address important marine conservation issues and protect marine resources. COASST participants collect data on beached carcasses of marine birds on a monthly basis at an un-surveyed beach of your choice. Beached bird surveys are best conducted in groups of 2 or more so please come with a survey partner in mind or in tow! Trainings are free, but we do require a refundable deposit for survey materials.
Note: Please bring a lunch for yourself or plan to go somewhere nearby! Snacks will be provided.

Write Your Life Sketch

Come write your very own life sketch. This class is for anyone who wants to write a brief auto-biography or ‘self-portrait’ that is focused on their life-long work or professional career.
Students should bring a pen and notepad to class.
