Advanced Spanish Conversation via Zoom
with Fernando Rojas-Galvan
Conversation is an engaging and immersive way to practice any language. Enjoy reading, studying, and commenting on essays, stories, and New York Times articles written in Spanish in a fun group setting while practicing Spanish. We will use a variety of published works to promote speaking.

Jazz Improvisation
with RJ Marx
Calling all musicians to a Saturday morning jazz jam! This class will offer an opportunity for musicians to perform and improvise together. Come improve your jazz skills and techniques by learning in a fun group setting. Players of all levels are welcome, although two years of instrumental experience is advised.

Instructor Bio: R.J. Marx is a saxophonist and writer active in the music scene for over 40 years. He began his love affair with jazz as a teen. He went on to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston before relocating to New York City where he played with a variety of jazz ensembles and wrote extensively about jazz. In 2015, he moved to the Oregon Coast where he founded the R.J. Marx Quartet. He now performs at venues along the North Coast with groups including the Seaside Jazz Trio, the swing group Chelsea LaFey and the Salt Shakers, and the funk/fusion band Red String Theory.

Writing A Memoir
with Eve Marx
Come revisit and write about the important moments in your life including childhood memories, love, family, transformational experiences, your career, personal quests, and more. Each session will include time to write and time to share.
Students should bring a pen and notepad or tablet/laptop to class.

Instructor Bio: Eve Marx is a professional book author and journalist. Her essay collection, "View From the Porch: Tales from the Anti-Hamptons" won a Washington Irving award for literary excellence. She received her Master's degree in Education from Columbia University in New York City. For over twenty years, she has led memoir writing and creative nonfiction classes for children, teens and adults in traditional and nontraditional academic settings. She has been a newspaper columnist and feature writer whose work has been published in national magazines and regional publications. Her great joy is guiding both new and more experienced writers to explore and expand their literary talents.

Fundamentals of Psychic Abilities

Come learn the many different gifts of psychic work as well as how to navigate and apply them in your daily life. In this class, you will gain a better understanding of the abilities you carry, what these abilities mean, and how to cultivate these gifts to serve others.

WT-First Aid, CPR and AED Certification
with TR DeMoss
This one session course is designed to prepare participants to provide First Aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course teaches the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. This course includes infant/child First Aid and CPR. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED two-year certification. Cards are issued electronically through the American Heart Association and may take up to two weeks to arrive.
This class is 1 session and meets in Patriot Hall Room 206.

AARP Smart Driver
with Melanie Wood
This course is specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. It helps students refresh their driving skills and knowledge of the rules (and hazards) of the road, as well as help reduce the chance of receiving a traffic violation or getting into an accident. Oregon state law provides a discount on auto insurance premiums for completing this course. At the end of class, a certificate of completion will be issued to each student to give to their auto insurer.
Please pay the $20 course fee for AARP members, AARP card or number required, (or $25 for non-members) via check or cash to the Instructor in class.
Please also bring your driver’s license and a sack lunch.

Psychics and Ethics

This workshop offers the tools to understand how psychics perform ethical readings. You will also learn how to protect yourself from predatory psychics who do readings to provoke fear in you in order to make more money.
